I just bought tickets to see Back to the Future Part II in a movie theater at Union Square, which will be the second time I’ve seen this film in the theater–the first being when I was 8 years old in 1989. I remember watching this movie as a kid and fantasizing about what the future will hold in 2015. I’ll be old, I thought at the time. I’ll be in my 30s! It’s bizarre thinking about it now. One of those bumping into yourself in the past kind of feelings.
I’ve got time on the brain. We are as far away from 1985 now as people in 1985 were from 1955.
As for hover-boards and flying cars, we don’t have that. But in less than two minutes I just bought movie tickets on my laptop and beamed the tickets to my cellphone. And maybe I’ll tap my phone and have an Uber swoop in to pick me up. At least we still have paper newspapers in 2015…
